Bridge Church exists to build bridges across all peoples, for the glory of God, as we lead them towards the gospel bridge, Jesus Christ.
We want to be clear. We are not here to build bridges between God and man (as our name might suggest). That bridge has already been built in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. We are here simply to draw EVERYONE’S attention to that masterpiece… the gospel bridge… that God has already built for us in Jesus Christ.
The Vision that Drives the Mission
Our mission is driven by our desire to be participants in God the Father’s vision of displaying His glory through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We aim to participate in that great work by being:
Christ-Centred, Mission Minded, and through Authentic Community.
Christ-Centred
God is glorified in many ways, but in these last days, He is most glorified when His Son is made much of. Therefore, our singing, our praying, our preaching and our teaching all centre around what God has done for us and continues to be for us in Jesus Christ.
Mission-Minded
We are passionate about reaching people with the gospel. We do that by following the Great Commission.
Jesus told us to Go, so we actively go out to make opportunities to witness.
Jesus told us to make disciples so we have open Bible discussions with seekers and discipleship programs for new and growing believers.
Jesus also told us to go to all the nations, so we actively witness in the city that God has placed us, then the surrounding cities, as well as participate in international missions.
Authentic Community
We live in one of the most livable, yet ironically, also one of the loneliest places on earth. Social isolation is a big problem in our city.
We want to change that by building bridges to you! As a person created in the image of God, the Bible teaches that you are immensely valuable. Apart from your net worth or your network of friends! And so, we want to connect with you and really get to know you at a heart level.
We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel appreciated and safe — safe enough to bear our hearts before God and one another.
But we are not a cruise ship. We aren’t interested in playing it safe and just coasting along… We are a community on a mission. A mission of helping people discover meaning and life as we walk across the bridge that God has built for us.
